This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious HR professional to develop their career partnering with senior leaders across Finance, Risk, and HR — three functions central to IG's governance, growth, and transformation. Reporting to the Head of HR for Group Functions & Trading & Operations, you will be the trusted HR partner for Finance, Risk, and HR, delivering strategic people planning through to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Partnership & People Planning
- Act as the primary HR partner for Finance, Risk, and HR functions, building trusted relationships with leaders at all levels.
- Actively manage the relationship with the Chief Risk Officer, providing proactive HR advice and developing your executive stakeholder capability.
- Build and input into annual people plans for each client group, aligning people priorities with business objectives.
- Partner with managers to translate business needs into practical people solutions.
- Strategic Workforce Planning & Recruitment
- Partner with leaders to understand future capability needs and translate these into workforce plans.
- Identify critical roles, skills gaps, and succession risks within your client groups.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on recruitment strategies and support senior hiring processes.
- Input to headcount planning and resource allocation with a commercial lens.
- Talent, Performance & Succession
- Support performance management cycles, ensuring quality conversations, fair calibration, and appropriate differentiation.
- Coordinate talent reviews and contribute to succession planning for critical roles.
- Coach managers on performance conversations, development planning, and addressing underperformance.
- Employee Relations
- Own employee relations cases within your client groups, managing them through to resolution with professionalism and pace.
- Partner with the Employee Relations team to align on approach, ensure consistency, and elevate complex/high‑risk cases.
- Provide clear, practical advice to managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence matters.
- Build manager confidence in handling people issues through coaching and guidance.
- Embedding High‑Performance Culture
- Champion IG's values and performance principles, role‑modeling expected behaviours.
- Support leaders to set clear expectations, recognise high performance, and address underperformance consistently.
- Drive engagement actions within your client groups, translating survey insights into improvements.
- Change & Organisational Effectiveness
- Support organisational design and restructuring initiatives, contributing to business cases and change plans.
- Help implement change programmes with clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement.
- HR Operations & Core Delivery
- Deliver cyclical HR activities with excellence—performance reviews, compensation cycles, engagement surveys, and talent processes.
- Use HR data to identify trends, flag risks, and inform decision‑making.
- Collaborate with HR Operations and Centres of Excellence to ensure seamless service delivery.

- Build trusted partnerships with Finance, Risk, and HR leadership teams, becoming their go‑to HR advisor.
- Develop a credible working relationship with the Chief Risk Officer.

- Deliver core HR processes on time and to a high standard.
- Manage employee relations cases effectively—timely resolution, fair outcomes, appropriate escalation.

- Professional Experience: Solid HR Business Partner experience, ideally within a fast‑paced corporate or financial services environment.
- Strong employee relations experience with a track record of owning cases, supported by ER specialists.
- Experience contributing to workforce planning, headcount management, and recruitment strategies.
- Experience delivering core HR processes including performance management and talent reviews.
- Exposure to organisational change or transformation projects.
- Track record building effective relationships with senior stakeholders, with appetite to develop executive‑level skills.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
