Key responsibilities:
- Acting as Employer's Agent under JCT Design and Build contracts, managing the contract administration process from appointment to practical completion and final account.
- Leading project management delivery across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes.
- Chairing progress meetings, managing programme, cost and risk, and reporting to clients and stakeholders.
- Reviewing contractor design submissions, valuations, variations and extension of time claims.
- Certifying practical completion, managing defects periods and final certificates.
- Supporting business development and maintaining client relationships across the Cambridge and wider East Anglia market.
- Line management and mentoring of junior project management staff, as appropriate to seniority.
Candidate requirements:
- Essential:
- Proven experience acting as Employer's Agent, ideally under JCT Design and Build.
- Track record of project managing construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, cost control and programme management.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel to sites across the region.
- Desirable:
- MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification (or working towards).
- Degree in a construction-related discipline (quantity surveying, project management, construction management or similar).
- Experience across a range of sectors, including residential, education, commercial and healthcare.
- NEC contract experience in addition to JCT.
Package:
- Salary up to £70,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
