So, who are we? IG is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.3m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.

The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – The Future Gets Built Here.

Your Team: Support the Quant team by delivering and maintaining the data and technology infrastructure that underpins quantitative analysis and trading strategies. This includes managing market data, databases, cloud technologies, and analytical tools to enable efficient research, modelling, and reporting across IG Group’s retail trading and investment platforms.

Your role in the Team's success: Join a high-performing Quant team at the forefront of quantitative trading, pricing, and risk management across IG Group’s global multi-asset OTC trading platform. Working closely with traders and developers, you will use large-scale market, pricing, and trade data to develop insights, optimise trading performance, and shape innovative pricing and hedging strategies. This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced quantitative methods, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques within a fast-paced, data-driven trading environment, while contributing directly to the evolution of trading and execution models that drive commercial impact.

What you will do:

  • Analyse large-scale pricing, tick, and trade data to identify opportunities for performance optimisation and revenue growth.
  • Evaluate and recommend hedging strategies that minimise portfolio risk and return variance in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Develop and maintain backtesting frameworks to validate quantitative models, trading strategies, and statistical findings.
  • Produce high-quality data visualisations, analytics, and regular reporting to support trading decisions and market insights.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, developers, and quantitative teams to deliver innovative pricing, hedging, and risk management solutions.
  • Lead the specification and documentation of quantitative requirements, development initiatives, and reusable analytical frameworks.

Our Quant Analysts do not write production code in the hot path for pricing and execution, but provide critical well-researched quantitative analysis and creative input to support the development and enhancement of pricing and execution models.

Who you are:

  • Strong Python programming skills with experience in data analytics, quantitative analysis, and model development.
  • Advanced understanding of statistics, quantitative methods, and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering workflows.
  • Degree in a mathematical, statistical, scientific, or related quantitative discipline; MSc preferred, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong statistical capability.
  • Experience in market-making, proprietary trading, quantitative research, or similar data-driven trading environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex quantitative insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
