So, who are we? IG has been at the centre of retail trading and investment since 1974, when we helped create the market for financial spread betting. Today, we're a FTSE100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 700,000 clients and handling billions in transactions - built on decades of scale, trust and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that’s rare in established businesses. The bar is high - bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – the future gets built here.

The Role We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Group Technology team, reporting directly to the Head of Product. This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of technology and business strategy, responsible for managing products that drive measurable value across the organisation. You will partner closely with engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders to own your product area end-to-end — from discovery through to delivery and iteration — while championing modern, AI product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all stages of the product development lifecycle — from problem definition, discovery, and prioritisation through to delivery, launch, and post-release iteration.
  • Define clear, outcome-focused product requirements and translate them into actionable briefs and user stories for engineering and design teams.
  • Identify, evaluate, and embed AI-powered tools and methodologies into the product development process — including ideation, prototyping, testing, and documentation — to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
  • Work to define success metrics, monitor product performance, and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across technology, operations, compliance, and divisional teams in a squad based structure to ensure products are built for both user needs and business viability.
  • Champion a culture of continuous discovery, rapid experimentation, and iterative improvement.
  • Proactively manage risk, dependencies, and trade-offs, communicating clearly with stakeholders at all levels including senior leadership.
  • Stay current with emerging AI capabilities, fintech trends, and industry best practices, identifying opportunities to apply them within the product domain.

About You

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, ideally within a technology-led organisation or financial services environment.
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of end-to-end product development lifecycles — from discovery and definition through to agile delivery and post-launch optimisation.
  • Practical experience leveraging AI tools within the product development process (e.g. using LLMs for research synthesis, requirements generation, user story writing, testing automation, or product analytics).
  • Comfortable working closely with engineering teams; able to engage meaningfully in technical conversations without needing to write code.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, align, and communicate at all levels.
  • Strong analytical mindset; able to use data and qualitative insight to make and justify product decisions.
  • Experience writing clear product documentation such as opportunity assessments, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Desirable

  • Experience within trading, financial services, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with AI product development; working on or alongside products that incorporate machine learning, generative AI, or intelligent automation.
  • Exposure to platform or internal tooling product management (B2B2C or internal-facing products).

The Perks

Your growth fuels our success! Thrive with tailored development programs, mentoring opportunities with leaders, and clear career progression. Expand your network through committees, sports and social clubs. Enjoy extra time off for volunteering and community work.
