So, who are we? IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.3m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses. The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – the future gets built here.
About the role: This isn’t a role where you sit at arm’s length from the business. You’ll own your business areas end-to-end — becoming the hiring expert for those areas, deeply familiar with their strategy, culture and what it takes to succeed there. You’ll be a genuine partner to senior leaders, not just a recruiter taking briefs. It’s a player/coach position. You’ll carry your own requisitions while drawing on a shared pool of flexible TA experts — based across our key locations — when hiring demand requires it. The pace is real, the roles are varied, and the business is changing fast. You’ll need to hold the thread across it all.
About the team: You’ll sit within the Group People function and report directly to the Head of Talent Acquisition. The TA team operates as an embedded, account-managed model — each manager owning a slice of the business rather than a pile of generic vacancies. You’ll work closely with HR business partnering team, HR Ops and Reward.
What you'll do:
- Deep Business Partnership: Own the TA relationship for your assigned divisions or functions — building expert knowledge of their strategy, operating model, team culture and talent needs. Become a trusted advisor to senior leaders and hiring managers, proactively shaping their thinking on hiring rather than simply responding to briefs. Develop a nuanced understanding of what ‘great’ looks like in your divisions — and use that to raise the bar on every hire. Anticipate future hiring needs through close partnership with HRBPs and business leaders, keeping ahead of demand rather than chasing it.
- Direct Hiring (Player): Personally manage end-to-end recruitment for a portfolio of roles across your divisions, from brief through to offer and onboarding. Lead on sourcing strategy for your areas — building pipelines, mapping markets and finding candidates who wouldn’t find us. Deliver a consistently high-quality candidate experience, reflecting the standard IG holds itself to externally. Liaise with and manage agency relationships where necessary.
- TA team coordination (Coach): Draw on a shared pool of flexible TA experts — available across our main locations — to scale capacity during high-volume periods or when hiring in specific geographies requires it. Set clear briefs, quality standards and ways of working when deploying flex resource — ensuring consistency even when capacity scales up. Act as the quality control point across all hiring in your divisions, regardless of who is running individual processes.
- Data and Continuous Improvement: Track and report on key metrics for your divisions — time to hire, quality of hire, source effectiveness — and use the data to improve. Identify process gaps and help build more scalable, repeatable approaches as the TA function matures. Maintain rigorous ATS discipline across your portfolio and ensure hiring processes are documented and auditable.
What you'll need for this role:
- 3+ years of in-house recruitment experience, with a track record of owning business relationships rather than just processing vacancies.
- Experience recruiting across a mix of functions or business areas — comfortable moving between technical, commercial and corporate hiring.
- A genuine account management mindset: able to build credibility with senior stakeholders and shape hiring decisions, not just support them.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent requisitions at varying levels of seniority, without dropping quality.
- Experience in briefing, directing or coordinating external or flex recruitment resources.
- Strong sourcing capability — able to find and engage passive talent rather than relying on inbound applications.
- Comfortable working with data and using insight to drive decisions and have credible conversations with the business.
- Resilient and adaptable — able to hold pace and quality through ambiguity and organisational change.
Desirable:
- Experience in fintech, financial services or a similarly regulated, fast-moving business.
- Familiarity with global hiring across multiple regions, particularly Europe and APAC.
- Exposure to TA operating model design or function-building in a scaling organisation.
- Experience with employer branding or attraction campaigns tied to specific business areas.
