Your Team: Support the Quant team by delivering and maintaining the data and technology infrastructure that underpins quantitative analysis and trading strategies. This includes managing market data, databases, cloud technologies, and analytical tools to enable efficient research, modelling, and reporting across IG Group’s retail trading and investment platforms.
Your role in the Team's success: Support the Quant Analysts and Trading teams by delivering and maintaining the data and technology environment that underpins quantitative research and trading strategies. You will work with complex datasets across multiple databases and visualisation platforms, including kdb+, Google Cloud, and Tableau, to develop scalable data solutions, analytics, dashboards, and scheduled reporting. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will help enhance data pipelines, cloud-based infrastructure, and analytical capabilities within a fast-paced trading environment.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance codebases supporting data processing and quantitative analytics workflows.
- Design and manage scalable data pipelines for model ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
- Maintain repository workflows and automation processes, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment standards.
- Create data artefacts, dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support trading analysis and decision-making.
- Build and support primarily cloud-based services and infrastructure used by traders and quantitative analysts.
- Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting support to internal stakeholders, including Trading, Compliance, and Sales teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, accurate, and timely delivery of data solutions and analytics capabilities.
What you’ll need for this role:
- Experience in data processing, data analysis, and data visualisation techniques.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience developing scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and modern coding tools.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Preferred experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, containerisation technologies including Docker, and the management of data pipelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced trading and analytics environment, supporting both technical and non-technical teams.
