The Enterprise Risk Director is a senior leadership role at the heart of IG's second line of defence. You will be responsible for the design, ownership, and continuous evolution of IG's enterprise-wide risk management framework — providing independent oversight and challenge across all risk categories, ensuring IG operates within its Board-approved risk appetite, and meeting the expectations of regulators across all global jurisdictions. This is a role that demands both strategic authority and operational credibility. You will work closely with the CRO, CFO, and Board Risk Committee to shape IG's risk appetite, steward the Group risk taxonomy, and lead the governance forums through which risk is identified, escalated, and managed. Equally, you will be a champion of risk culture — driving risk awareness, accountability, and conduct standards across a globally distributed team.

We are seeking a seasoned enterprise risk professional with deep experience in financial services, a strong command of regulatory expectations and the gravitas to operate as a trusted partner to ExCo, the Board, and external regulators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Significant progressive experience in enterprise or operational risk within a regulated financial services firm — ideally spanning both second line and senior leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks, risk appetite design, and risk taxonomy across a complex, multi-entity group.
  • Strong command of UK regulatory requirements, particularly FCA expectations including Consumer Duty, SYSC, and Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR).
  • Proven experience preparing and presenting to Board-level risk committees and engaging directly with regulators.
  • Experience leading or significantly contributing to risk governance forums at ExCo or Board level.
  • Experience managing and developing risk teams, with evidence of building capability and raising standards.
  • Familiarity with international regulatory environments across IG's key jurisdictions (Europe, APAC, North America) advantageous.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to set direction, prioritise, and operate with authority across a complex organisation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — able to distil complex risk topics into clear, Board-ready narratives.
  • Strong stakeholder influencing skills, with the gravitas to challenge senior leaders and engage regulators with confidence.
Career Trajectory:

A platform for an ambitious risk leader to grow into a CRO or equivalent executive role within a FTSE 100 business.

Competitive Reward:

Highly competitive base salary, performance bonus, LTIP participation, and a comprehensive benefits package.
