Your Role in the Team's Success: The Head of Risk for Institutional Business is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework for the business's corporate, governmental, and financial services clients. This executive-level position balances strategic business objectives with robust risk controls while ensuring regulatory compliance across all institutional activities. As the Head of Institutional Risk, you will report direct to IG's Chief Risk Officer, with a secondary reporting line into the MD of IG Prime.
- Design and oversee the risk management framework specific to institutional business lines and provide risk leadership and guidance to institutional business units and executive management.
- Develop a risk monitoring process and mitigate existing and emerging risks across institutional portfolios.
- Partner with cross-functional business leaders to integrate risk considerations into strategic decision-making.
- Establish risk appetite and tolerance levels whilst ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and enabling business growth.
- Report risk metrics and issues to senior management and relevant committees.
- Lead and develop a team of risk professionals focused on institutional business.

What you'll need for this role:
- 10+ years of experience in risk management, with at least 5 years focused on institutional business and/or corporate banking.
- Strong understanding of IG's product offering; experience with a range of financial products, including physical and synthetic prime brokerage, as well as digital assets.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional risk certification preferred (FRM, PRM, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (Basel, Dodd-Frank, GDPR, etc.).
- Deep understanding of institutional client segments and their unique risk profiles.
- Experience developing risk frameworks for complex institutional products and services and interfacing with regulators.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to influence across organisational boundaries.
