Overview of the role
As the Commercial Director – Institutional for IFX Payments in London for the Institutional division, you will play a key role in driving strategic growth, strengthening client relationships, and building a high‑performing sales team. This role requires a commercially driven leader with deep market expertise, a proven ability to develop innovative sales strategies, and strong collaboration skills across multiple departments in a fast‑paced environment. You will be responsible for building and leading the sales and relationship management teams, overseeing the day‑to‑day operations, supporting in driving new business opportunities, and expanding relationships with key clients, while ensuring the achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the long‑term vision for the Institutional desk.
- Identify emerging market trends, risks and opportunities to maintain a competitive edge.

- Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Create a robust and high‑performing sales structure that can operate within the Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) infrastructure (private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, real estate funds and family offices).
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies for both the department’s direction, to acquire new institutional clients and grow existing relationships.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing sales team with a strong performance‑driven culture.
- Establish clear goals, KPIs, and processes to ensure team success.
- Foster talent development through training, coaching, and career progression opportunities.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and motivating environment where individuals excel.
