This role provides an exciting opportunity to shape and influence legal strategies across multiple jurisdictions. We’re looking for a commercially minded, proactive individual to play a pivotal role in enabling the company’s growth and supporting innovative solutions in an ever-evolving regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Contracts & Legal Support: Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, partnership agreements and supplier contracts. Advise on business initiatives, including product development, new business offerings and commercial opportunities. Lead cross-border legal initiatives, including multi-jurisdictional licensing arrangements and international expansion projects. Research and advise on international regulatory frameworks and complex multi-jurisdictional legal issues.
- Regulatory, Risk & Compliance: Serve as a trusted advisor to the business’s risk and compliance functions, providing legal guidance on financial crime matters, including AML, CTF and sanctions compliance. Advise on broader regulatory compliance and risk management matters, including capital adequacy and operational resilience. Oversee and maintain legal policies, procedures and critical company documentation, including data protection frameworks.
- Intellectual Property & Brand Protection: Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio and related rights. Review and advise on marketing materials, website content, branding and external communications.
- Dispute Resolution & External Counsel Management: Lead and support dispute resolution matters, including managing legal risk and strategy. Instruct and manage external counsel and third-party advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
- Corporate Governance & Strategic Projects: Assist with company secretarial matters and corporate governance requirements. Play an active role in strategic business projects, providing pragmatic legal support and contributing to organisational objectives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong academic background and solid legal training, gained in private practice or in-house.
- Experience PQE as a qualified solicitor.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
- A self-starter with a passion to learn and make a meaningful impact in a fast-growing, dynamic business.
- Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to an inclusive work environment.
- Desirable: Prior in-house experience (whether on secondment or otherwise) and experience in the financial services sector.
- A true team player with a winning mentality and strong work ethic committed to continuous improvement and high performance.
- Adaptable, tenacious and flexible who can perform under pressure.
