Would you like to work for a medium size progressive and ambitious company within the commercial catering and restaurant fit-out sector which is owned by its employees? Do you live within a 40-minute commute from Croydon? The hours for this role will be minimum 25 hours per week, with workdays/hours scheduled and agreed at the end of the preceding week. During busy periods more working hours may be required.

We are seeking a driver/warehouse operative who is experienced in organising, handling, loading and delivering large commercial products to sites for refurbishment projects in a minimum 3.5t vehicle. We require an adaptable team player who can work successfully, pro-actively and logically, liaising with colleagues, suppliers, contractors and clients. We require a driver with a maximum of 3 points on their driving licence and a forklift truck licence.

Key Duties:
  • Driving and Logistics: Goods-in and Goods-Out. Unloading into warehouse and loading onto 3.5t vehicle heavy-duty commercial catering equipment using forklift truck.
  • Driving of 3.5t vehicle to effect deliveries to sites nationwide.
  • Warehouse duties, keeping warehouse safe and tidy and well organised.
  • Occasional assistance to on-site teams (CSCS card will be required, but not essential in the first instance).
What we’re looking for:
  • Experienced driver and warehouse operative with at least 5 years’ experience of driving 3.5t vehicle.
  • Forklift truck licence.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate and work well within a small team.
  • Full driving licence, no more than 3 points.
  • A can-do proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
What you’ll receive:
  • Salary dependent on experience and level of skills, minimum London Living Wage.
  • Private Health Care (after 20 weeks service).
  • Company pension scheme with 4% company contribution.
  • Life cover amounting to 4 x salary (after 20 weeks service).
  • Paid annual leave: 25 days pro rata plus Public Holidays. Following the third year of service leave increases by one day per year, up to a maximum of 30 days annual leave.
  • Bank holidays are paid in addition to the above annual leave.
  • Discretionary annual profit share which is related to the success of the company for the year.

  • There is on-site parking available and the IFSE offices are within a 5-minute walk of the Waddon Marsh tram stop.
