We are looking for a
Financials Pre ‑ Sales Consultant to join our UK Pre‑Sales team.
This role is ideal for someone with practical finance, accounting or financial systems experience who is ready to take greater ownership of customer engagements, solution storytelling and value-led demonstrations.
You will work closely with Sales, Product and wider Pre‑Sales teams to understand customer priorities, shape compelling finance focused solution narratives and demonstrate how IFS helps organisations solve operational challenges, improve business performance and transform the way they work through strong financial management, industry depth and AI enabled capabilities.
This is a customer facing role for someone who can combine finance process knowledge, consultative communication and technology curiosity to support opportunities with increasing independence, while positioning finance in the context of the wider operational outcomes customers are trying to achieve.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead finance focused discovery workshops, customer meetings and demonstrations, identifying business challenges and positioning IFS solutions to address customer needs.
- Articulate finance-led business challenges across financial close, reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash management and operational efficiency, linking these to operational priorities and measurable industry outcomes.
- Design and deliver compelling demonstration scenarios, proof points and presentations that focus on customer business objectives, industry best practices and IFS differentiation.
- Apply a strong understanding of core financial management processes and capabilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Demonstrate how finance processes connect across wider operational functions including asset management, service, maintenance, supply chain, manufacturing, projects and human resources.
- Communicate the value of Industrial AI, automation and intelligent workflows in improving finance and operational decision-making, productivity, forecasting and anomaly detection.
- Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Presales and Consulting teams to progress opportunities and deliver value led customer engagements across the UK region.
- Contribute high quality finance content to RFIs, RFPs, proposals and customer facing documentation, collaborating with subject matter experts where required.
- Develop an understanding of industry trends, emerging finance technologies, business value drivers and best practices relevant to IFS target markets.
- Maintain knowledge of IFS finance solutions, product roadmaps and broader platform capabilities through ongoing enablement, training and certification activities.
- Capture customer feedback, market insight and competitive intelligence to continuously improve solution positioning, demonstrations and go-to-market messaging.
Qualifications
- University degree, ACCA qualification, equivalent professional qualification or demonstrable relevant professional experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in finance, accounting, audit, FP&A, finance operations, consulting, business systems or solution consulting.
- Practical understanding of finance processes, with the ability to translate them into customer facing conversations focused on operational improvement, business transformation and measurable outcomes.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and modern software engineering practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into compelling value propositions for executive and technical audiences
- Experience leading, shaping and delivering customer facing discovery engagements, workshops, demonstrations and executive presentations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage effectively across business and technical audiences.
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams, cultures and geographies in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Full UK driving licence with a willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
