The IFRS Foundation Trustees seek new members for the IFRS Interpretations Committee (Committee) from July 2026. The Committee works with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in maintaining and supporting the consistent application of IFRS Accounting Standards. The Committee responds to application questions and carries out other work at the request of the IASB. It consists of 14 voting members and a non‐voting chair, IASB member Bruce Mackenzie.
Successful candidates will be appointed to serve a term beginning on 1 July 2026 and ending on 30 June 2029. The term may be renewed for a further three years. Members are expected to attend up to six two‐day meetings in London each year. Membership is unpaid, but the IFRS Foundation will reimburse members' reasonable travel and accommodation expenses incurred for attending Committee meetings.
Four vacancies will arise on 1 July. One appointment will replace a member from one of the four large accounting firms; the Trustees will invite applications for candidates from this firm. The other three positions are open to all applicants. Given the skills, experience and background of the outgoing members and the need to maintain overall balance, preparers of financial statements are of particular interest.
When considering candidates, Trustees will consider individuals who:
- have a high level of technical expertise;
- will add to the Committee's diversity in terms of international business and market experience;
- have market experience in the practical application of IFRS Accounting Standards and experience of analysing financial statements prepared in accordance with these Standards;
- can serve in an individual capacity and demonstrate their independence.
Applications due by: 28 February 2026. Trustees have the discretion to review applications received after this date. Please refer to the relevant website pages and the criteria and indicate interest by sending a cover letter and CV to Ken Robinson, Chair of the Nominating Committee by 28 February 2026. Interviews are expected to take place in April and May 2026.
