Job Description
Shift Pattern: Monday‑Friday rotating shift – 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00.
Salary: £32,282.19 + allowance of £3,228.22 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Run a busy shift managing around 50 people across various workstreams.
- Handle damaged item throughput in a fast‑paced environment.
- Take responsibility for most HR aspects: attendance, performance management, briefing the team and positioning people to hit targets.
- Use prior experience as a supervisor/shift manager or senior team leader.
- Provide training for new and existing staff to achieve highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Support the Shift Supervisor with receipt, pallet build, put‑away and dispatch of stock.
- Support the Shift Supervisor with receipt and pallet build of returned customer orders to maintain SLA targets.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
- Ensure optimum levels of stock integrity.
- Support the Shift Supervisor to plan staffing levels to meet required efficiency.
- Develop and train all team members so that their contributions to the warehouse can be maximised and succession plans are in place.
- Manage and motivate the shift team to ensure productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
- Monitor and control the work environment to operate at optimum efficiency.
- Be personable to effectively communicate with drivers and operatives while finding solutions for potential challenges.
Qualifications
- Experience managing teams within a multi‑client warehouse environment desirable.
- Process‑oriented – appreciation for specific client requirements.
- Delivery of quality and cost improvements through continuous improvement.
- People manager – leads by example, encourages team spirit and motivates a team.
- Adaptable & responsive to change – ability to monitor workflow and move workforce accordingly.
- Computer literate and able to follow complex instructions.
