Are you ready to take the lead in creating a safer, more efficient workplace? iForce is seeking a passionate Head of HSQE and Compliance to drive the continuous evolution of our health, safety, quality, and environmental processes. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of minimizing risks and safeguarding the well-being of our employees, while managing associated costs.
The Head of HSQE and Compliance will develop and implement a strategic plan that aligns with our company\βs goals and objectives. You will foster a culture of health, safety, and compliance, ensuring our practices are effective, innovative, and relevant in a changing environment.
Location flexibility : Corby, Northampton, or Stafford. Travel will be required.
Key duties include:
- Leading the development of processes and systems to minimize risks to employee health and safety and reduce associated costs.
- Developing and implementing a HSQE strategic plan aligned with company objectives, with ongoing updates for relevance.
- Addressing HSQE incidents, non-conformances, customer complaints, and risks through assessments and investigations.
- Managing regional teams, setting KPIs and objectives to ensure high standards of achievement and delivery.
- Developing and updating health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and adoption across operations.
- Embedding safe work policies and practices, fostering cultural improvements.
- Developing systems to measure, monitor, and audit safety performance.
- Maintaining relationships with HSE and external bodies to represent the company professionally.
- Formulating budgets for all responsibilities to ensure cost control.
- Conducting gap analyses of existing procedures and ensuring staff are trained in safe systems of work.
- Auditing risk assessments and method statements regularly.
- Updating the Board on legislative changes.
- Managing the overall health and safety framework and ensuring legal compliance.
- Reporting serious safety concerns to Directors and ensuring competency in safety-related tasks.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH & IOSH qualified
- Qualified in management systems auditing
- IEMA certification or equivalent
- Experience in people management and building high-performing teams
- Proficiency in Excel, planning, and data analysis
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Experience with HACCP and food safety (chilled and ambient)
- Knowledge of ISO standards, especially ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001
- Full UK driving license
