Ifor Williams Trailers is Britain's leading trailer manufacturer, operating at six advanced manufacturing sites across North Wales. We are looking for enthusiastic graduates to join and strengthen our existing business operations. As a valued member of the team, you will be given responsibility from the outset, taking ownership of key project areas and working closely with the Company’s decision-makers. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into the key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive a successful manufacturing business.
The Graduate Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Facilitating design changes raised through these systems.
- Supporting the validation of designs with the relevant manufacturing sites.
- Ensuring the smooth delivery of changes from initial request through to completion.
- Ensuring that the 3D Models and Drawings are suitable for Manufacture (Design for Manufacture).
- Acting as point of contact for any issues arising from the design change.
- Ensuring that our MRP System is updated with the new data as required and all Engineering Change Documents are distributed around the business as required.
We seek candidates who have:
- A desire to learn and grow in the role.
- A “Can-Do” attitude and the ability to accept guidance on the requested design changes.
- A flexible and enthusiastic team player with a passion for problem solving.
- IT literacy and understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc).
- Experience in the use of Solid Works 3D CAD Software and the creation of Engineering Drawings.
- A willingness to travel between all our sites to ensure a Right First Time solution.
- A degree in an Engineering/Design related subject or studying towards one.
- Experience using Solid Works 3D CAD Software, that can be demonstrated at an interview.
- Experience in the creation of Drawings generated from the 3D model that can be demonstrated at an interview.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Ability to commute/relocate: Deeside CH5 2LR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Bachelor's (preferred).
Solid Works CAD Software: 1 year (required).
