The Role
- Carry out, as directed by the Manager & Associate Director, Head of Performance and Risk Analytics, the performance analytics, performance reporting and investment reporting requirements for all IFM Investors products.
- Conduct in-depth performance analysis for a broad range of products and asset classes including modelling, complex attribution analysis and risk-return analysis on Fund performance across various mandates and funds.
- Assist in checking and overseeing the Analysts’ work and ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
- Support and provide guidance to Analysts for Performance and Risk Analytics related issues.
- Support the team in providing quality reporting and ensuring that the required standards for technical competence and professionalism are being met.
- Organise, manage, and monitor the team’s schedule and inbox to ensure the quality and timely service delivery of requests and query responses.
- Provide coverage in compiling, analysing and producing performance and analytical reporting via B-One, FactSet, Bloomberg and in-house systems.
- Project work as required to improve processes/procedures and improve departmental use of systems.
- Monitor the quality of outgoing communications by the team to both IFM internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment to our values and client standards.
- Lead technical discussions with Clients, Investment teams and IFM internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all personal training records are maintained and kept up to date.
- Contribute to the identification of emerging risks, trends and developments in the support environment, and participate in the implementation of solutions.
- Apply and encourage a culture of continuous improvement to change and/or develop new practices and procedures.
The role will provide support to the wider Investment Operations and Client Services department as directed by the Associate Director or Head of Performance and Risk Analytics.
Strategic Planning
- Apply and encourage a culture of continuous improvement, innovative practice and new procedures to achieve IFMs strategic business objectives.
Business Performance
- Provide data and reports for internal IFM teams (ie GIR, Marketing, Corporate, etc.) as and when needed.
- Assist in new product development as directed.
- Assist in the provision of feedback on the operations and resources for IFM Investors’ product performance and reporting requirements, including systems in support of processes.
Policy and Process Management
- Provide accurately and on time all performance and reporting requirements including:
- Product performance calculations
- Performance contribution and attribution versus benchmark calculations
- Population of periodic performance reports
- Population of key IFM performance and asset based reporting (for internal use).
- FUM and commitment reporting
- Fund performance fee calculations
Your Background and Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in performance analytics/performance reporting roles at Asset Owners, Funds Management, Funds administration or Custody firms within the financial services industry, servicing institutional investors.
- Experience with Private Markets, Fixed Income and/or Infrastructure asset classes is highly desirable.
- Must be a team player with effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, as well as work effectively with other departments within the firm.
- Dealing with large amounts of data with strong attention to detail required.
- Being able to identify and undertake investigation of data inconsistencies.
- Working within tight deadlines to provide consistently accurate reporting.
- Fostering good relationships with various areas of the business, clients, and consultants.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of IFM Investors’ products and services.
- Good understanding of all IFM asset classes.
- Excellent performance analytics and attribution knowledge.
- Very good investment market knowledge (including unlisted assets).
- Highly developed and demonstrated problem solving, analytical & numeric and verbal/written communications skills are essential.
- Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Aladdin - strong knowledge of MS Excel with some VBA knowledge.
- Very good knowledge of FactSet (B-One, PA3 & SPAR).
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, finance or related field.
- May have post-graduate qualifications.
