- Supervise domestic services to ensure high standards of cleanliness and working practices are maintained to support patient well-being and help reduce hospital-acquired infections, consulting with clinical staff when required.
- Oversee the wellbeing and supervision of Domestic Assistants.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork, such as flushing records and chlor clean documentation, is completed accurately and timely.
- Participate in recruitment processes including shortlisting, interviewing, selection, and monitoring probationary periods.
- Prioritize workload considering the reactive nature of the job and unforeseen variations to ward or department routines.
- Plan and organize deep cleaning sessions to meet deadlines.
- Create and maintain work plans based on cleaning specifications and area risk categories.
- Coach and develop new Domestic Assistants and update existing staff with refresher training, maintaining training records.
- Attend all relevant training and team meetings as directed by the line manager.
- Communicate effectively with service users to gather feedback on domestic services.
