As a member of our team, you will be required to undertake fire engineering projects within and outside of the UK and Ireland. The work will be technical in nature with a mixture of desktop activities as well as off-site activities and supported client interaction. You will carry out reviews of design projects, from the initial stage to more complex, advanced projects.

Working under supervision by competent fire engineers to:

  • Produce, with guidance, fire safety strategy documents to inform and support the chosen building form throughout the design process.
  • Identify, and with support, specify appropriate fixed fire protection systems, i.e. automatic fire detection and/or suppression to support fire engineering design solutions.
  • With support, carry out and review fire engineering calculations including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis, from simple hand calculations to complex 3D computational modelling.
  • Understand, and with support, apply relevant Fire Safety legislation and as necessary provide support in the undertaking of fire safety risk assessments.
  • Demonstrate awareness of, and ability to apply, relevant guidance and health and safety legislation (including British, Irish and European Standards).
  • With guidance, identify design related issues and propose solutions as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
