Affinity Fire Engineering is a specialised fire safety consultancy firm servicing a diverse range of clients and sectors throughout the UK & Ireland. We have vacancies available and are looking for proactive and experienced Senior Fire Engineers to join the team. Responsibilities

  • Production of fee proposals, fire strategy reports and other relevant documentation as and when required.
  • Attend Client meetings, conduct site surveys and inspections and communicate the intended fire strategy to the design team and client through phone calls, emails and meetings as appropriate.
  • Reviewing architectural drawings to determine potential fire strategy approval risks and opportunities to add value.
  • Calculations of evacuation times - Means of Escape Analysis.
  • Computational Evacuation Modelling Analysis.
  • Solve, with support, fire engineering calculations including radiant heat, smoke control and occupant evacuations.
  • Third Party Review/Design Verification.
  • Assessment and understanding of the main UK fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings.

Key requirements

  • A degree in Fire Engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Fire Engineer within a Fire Safety Engineering team with some basic project management experience.
  • A thorough understanding of ADB, BS 9999 and BS 9991.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory controls and a proven ability to develop and implement fire engineered design solutions in the built environment.
