As part of the delivery of the UK MOD AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopter Long Term Training and Technical Support (LTTSS) contract, Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a Continuing Airworthiness Management Engineer to expand the AH-64E CAMO Support Team, providing Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Publication (MRP) compliant support to the Apache Mil CAMO (Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation).
The successful candidate will provide direct assistance to the BDUK AH-64E Lead CAMO Engineer and British Army AH-64E Mil CAM, with the undertaking of CAMO activities specific to those air systems allocated to BDUK at Army Aviation Centre (AACen) Middle Wallop, undergoing flying training, maintenance, modification and flight test activity associated with provision of the LTTSS contracted activities.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible to the BDUK AH-64E CAMO Lead Engineer and the BDUK multi-platform Part M Manager for:
- Being part of the AH-64E CAMO Support Team based at AACen Middle Wallop, which is the main point of contact for the Boeing-contracted MRP Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) for Continuing Airworthiness (CAw) Management requirements on a daily basis.
- Conduct Continuing Airworthiness Assurance Reviews for aircraft undergoing Phase Maintenance activity. Complete reviews of Airworthiness data and maintenance documentation, inspect aircraft physical conditions, raise findings and observations as appropriate, manage findings resolution prior to aircraft release in service for engine ground run and Flight test.
- Assist the BDUK AH-64E Lead CAMO Engineer in liaising with the Mil CAMO and the AMO at Middle Wallop, maintaining oversight of all related CAMO activities, aircraft maintenance and modifications, and ensuring that a proper flow of information is maintained.
- Provide technical and process compliance support to the BDUK AMO, in properly understanding and applying all applicable internal and external processes and orders.
- Support the Mil CAMO in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Continuing Airworthiness processes.
- Attend relevant BDUK weekly Safety Meetings to review Occurrence Reports (ORs); support the Maintenance and Engineering Safety Teams in undertaking investigations on ORs with CAw implications. Ensure the correct and proper use of the BDUK SMS (Safety Management System).
- Ensure the correct and proper use of the BDUK QMS (Quality Management System).
- Support internal and external Part M Assurance Audits proposing, discussing and executing Corrective Actions Plans.
- Assist other BDUK Engineering units that support the execution of the AH-64E Mil CAM Part M responsibilities.
- Attend internal and external meetings representing the BDUK CAMO Support Team, as required.
- Liaise with the AHDT (Apache Delivery Team) and Apache Technical Services Hub, as required.
- Ensure that the AH-64E CAMO Support Team remain MRP compliant and have a positive contribution to the AH-64E Mil CAM’s approvals.
Essential Competencies:
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and appropriate experience related to Continuing Airworthiness.
- Technical knowledge and experience on the Apache aircraft type.
- Understanding and application of UK Military Aviation Regulations (MRP Part M & Part 145) and UK MoD Airworthiness Policies.
- Experience in the application of processes and culture in an aircraft Operations environment.
- Experience in the application of Air Safety Standards and safe operating practices.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively on the planning and execution of work.
- Able to engage with internal and external stakeholders, identifying obstacles, coordinating with leaders and team members to effectively resolve issues.
- Able to effectively execute opportunities to improve internal and external processes.
- Proven strong communication and diplomatic skills.
- The selected candidate will have significant UK MOD and Boeing interface.
- The ability to obtain UK Security clearance.
Desirable Competencies:
- Qualifications: UK HND and higher, or international equivalent.
- Previous UK Military Service CAMO experience.
- Previous experience in Airworthiness Assurance auditing activities.
- Technical knowledge and experience on the Apache aircraft type, AH-64E model.
- Technical knowledge and experience on other rotary wing aircraft.
- Familiarity with the use of GOLDesp and GOLD MRO as Maintenance Management Systems.
- UK MoD Form 700 Series and ERCs (Engineering Record Cards) knowledge.
- Able to support aircraft Occurrences Safety Investigations.
- An understanding of UK Aviation DDH (Delivery Duty Holder) requirements.
- Knowledge of QMS (Quality Management Systems) including AS9100.
- UK Professional Registration (Incorporated Engineer or higher) or international equivalent.
