Job Description Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join GE Vernova’s Power Conversion warehouse team in Rugby who design and manufacture electrical motors and generators for customers across the marine, naval, oil & gas and industrial sectors. Working in partnership with project managers, engineers, inventory owners and finance teams, you will help keep the systems and spares warehouse running smoothly and support day-to-day delivery of the stores team. This is a hands‑on role where you will lead a small team helping to keep the focus on safe and accurate material flow, while helping to strengthen cycle counting, stock control and barcode‑based processes.
Job Description
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the Systems and Spares warehouse
- Lead and guide the stores team, setting clear priorities and supporting safe, accurate and efficient performance
- Allocate workloads across goods receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch ensuring materials are received, booked in and stored correctly
- Maintain stock integrity through cycle counts, stock checks and wall‑to‑wall counts where required
- Fulfil internal material requests accurately and on time
- Coordinate carrier bookings, collections, deliveries and third‑party logistics activity as needed
- Investigate stock discrepancies, inventory loss and material control issues, following actions through to resolution
- Support warehouse quality processes, including logging, investigating and resolving non‑conformances through the relevant business systems
- Help improve service, strengthen controls and support continuous improvement and Kaizen activity across the warehouse
- Maintain a safe and well‑organised warehouse through strong housekeeping and 5S standards
- Carry out regular area safety inspections and ensure risk assessments cover warehouse activities
- Ensure equipment, plant and site are maintained, fit for use and operated safely in line with business and legal health and safety requirements
- Support cost control through effective inventory management, offsite storage oversight and responsible waste management
Candidate Essentials
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Team Lead or Supervisor role
- Strong background in a warehouse, stores or material control environment, with good understanding of stock management, inventory accuracy and day‑to‑day warehouse processes
- Experience with cycle counts, stock checks, wall‑to‑wall counts and discrepancy investigation
- Experience supporting non‑conformance logging, investigation and resolution
- Experience coordinating carrier bookings, third‑party logistics activity or offsite storage
- Experience supporting audit counts and working with finance and inventory owners on stock‑related requirements and completing reports
- SAP experience or experience using a similar inventory management system
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean, Kaizen or continuous improvement principles
- Organised, with a practical approach to prioritising workload, problem‑solving and attention to detail
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach and develop consistency and a strong team ethic
- Forklift licence with experience operating in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ideally you will live within a 45‑minute commute of the site in Rugby
- Desirable Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar stock control system
- Experience using scanner devices or barcode‑based warehouse processes
