GE’s Power Conversion & Storage business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high‑performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organisations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonisation through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.

Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers specialising in power systems, power conversion, automation, control and mechanical integration to ensure the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide technical leadership, advice and assistance to the project team, including commissioning, service and third parties.
  • Support the Project Manager and deputise for him/her when required.
  • Plan and progress all design engineering activities, including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
  • Monitor, control and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management, design reviews and quality & change control in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Support improvement initiatives and cost‑out plans in collaboration with other business units.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience in:

  • An engineering leadership environment.
  • Application engineering in one or more fields, from power engineering, electrical drive systems, grid‑connected systems and automation.
  • Specifying components: drives, motors, transformers, switchboards…
  • Design and system integration on complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Any field of power generation, conversion, transmission and distribution.
  • LV and MV variable‑speed drives and motors.

Personal qualities:

  • Experience of owning the job, adding value beyond expectations.
  • Capable of leading large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to multi‑task on a variety of tasks to strict time scales.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Customer‑centric mindset, experience in translating customer issues / needs into profitable business solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Min degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar degree with suitable industry experience.
