Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Quality methodology Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities with suppliers, encompassing all five phases: Plan and Define Program, Product Design and Development, Process Design and Development, Product and Process Validation, and Feedback, Assessment & Corrective Action.
  • Conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to define and improve supplier quality processes.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and implement improvement plans.
  • Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness and component quality.
  • Travel approximately 60% of the time to supplier sites, primarily within Europe but occasionally further.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Sole British citizenship with the ability to obtain national security vetting clearance to SC level.
  • Proven experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and experience with 8D or similar methodologies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Availability for domestic and international travel, mainly within Europe.
  • Valid UK Driver’s license.

Nice‑to‑have Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Significant experience in APQP and Supplier Quality within Defence, Aerospace, or other regulated industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with relevant sector quality standards and experience in stakeholder engagement and communication, such as with government and MoD interfaces.

This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements, it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
