The Commercial Manager will lead the preparation and submission of competitive, compliant, and commercially sound proposals within our complex project environment. You will join a collaborative team at the heart of the energy transition, taking ownership of the inquiry-to-order process. You will support the full lifecycle of high-value tenders, from interpreting specifications and building cost models to assessing contractual risks and negotiating terms.

How You Will Make a Difference
- Leading the preparation and submission of commercial proposals and tenders in line with customer requirements.
- Building robust cost models and pricing structures through close coordination with engineering, supply chain, and finance teams.
- Creating thorough commercial and contractual risk assessments to identify and mitigate key exposures early.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to secure business approvals and ensure all proposals are commercially sound.
- Improving our bid processes by maintaining accurate records and participating in project reviews.
- Supporting negotiations with customers to secure outcomes that protect our business interests and foster long-term trust.
- Support the gathering of business approvals, including Export Controls, Tax, Credit Checks, and Cashflow assessments, in coordination with relevant functions.
Skills for Success
You should be a dedicated commercial professional, with:
- The ability to interpret complex technical and commercial specifications to ensure our proposals are fully aligned with customer needs.
- The capability to manage multiple high-value bids concurrently with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proven experience in a commercial, tendering, or bid management role, ideally within an engineering, energy, or industrial sector.
- Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions (e.g., liability, warranties, payment terms, LDs), with the ability to identify and redline key risk clauses.
- An expertise in financial modeling and Excel-based pricing calculations.
- A keen interest in negotiation and a proactive approach to solving complex commercial challenges.
A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
Note: Depending on project assignment, you may be required to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, UK Security Clearance (SC level) to support Defence-related contracts.
