Keeping a warehouse running smoothly takes more than moving stock from A to B — it takes someone who takes pride in accuracy, cares about safety, and understands that every item in the right place at the right time makes a real difference to the customers and operations we support. As a Warehouse Coordinator at GE Vernova, you will be at the heart of our supply chain operations, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched with precision. You will help maintain the standards that keep our teams and customers moving — and when the Site Manager is unavailable, you will step up to keep operations running without a beat. This is a hands‑on, floor‑level role where your reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will have a direct and visible impact every day.
The Warehouse Operative is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of goods, ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, housekeeping, site compliance, and customer service. The role also supports the Site Manager in achieving operational objectives, maintaining stock integrity, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and health and safety standards.
What You'll Do
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming deliveries; prepare and dispatch site orders in line with company standards and customer requirements.
- Operate warehouse equipment — including pallet trucks and authorised forklift trucks — safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out routine stock checks, inventory counts, and reconciliation activities, maintaining accuracy through our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handheld scanning devices.
- Uphold 5S Lean housekeeping standards to maintain a safe, organised, and efficient working environment; follow all Health & Safety procedures, including safe manual handling and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Produce operational reports and contribute to Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets, including month‑end stock and reporting activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to meet business objectives; liaise with and oversee on‑site contractors to ensure compliance with safety procedures; and provide operational cover in the absence of the Site Manager.
Who We're Looking For
You are someone who takes ownership of their area, works well both independently and as part of a team, and brings a consistent, careful approach to everything you do. You do not need to have done every part of this role before — if you have a solid warehouse foundation and the right attitude, we will support your growth from there.
Required
- Proven experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Competent IT skills, including experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in inventory management and stock control processes
- Good understanding of warehouse health and safety legislation and safe working practices
- Physical capability to carry out manual handling activities
Preferred
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach)
- Experience coordinating or overseeing external contractors
- Knowledge of import/export processes or supply chain practices
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies or 5S Lean principles
- First Aid, Fire Marshal, IOSH Working Safely, or equivalent health and safety qualification
