Grid Solutions, a GE Renewable Energy business, provides power utilities and industries worldwide with equipment, systems, and services to deliver reliable and efficient power from generation to end consumers. The Assembly / Test Operative works in the Global Supply Chain Organisation, assembling and testing Dissolved Gas Analysis instruments, performing warehousing and dispatch operations, and supporting the supply chain from manufacturing to assembly, testing, packaging and shipping.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform manufacturing and assembly operations following procedures, bills of materials, work instructions, schematics and process aids.
  • Work with team leads, engineers, supervisors and managers to improve quality and process efficiency.
  • Maintain high quality in line with company policy and procedures.
  • Sustain required daily production output level.
  • Support complete supply chain from manufacture through assembly, basic testing, packaging and shipping.
  • Apply safety and EHS awareness.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate behaviours in line with GE Vernova way.

Essential Criteria

  • Manufacturing experience in electrical, electronic or mechanical assembly, or warehousing and dispatch operations.
  • Experience working to deadlines, prioritising work and meeting targets.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Flexibility to move between work areas and to work flexible hours as demand requires.
  • Proven track record of providing reliable, consistent and high quality service.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of lean principles including single-piece flow, 5S and standard work.
  • Experience of PCBA test, basic fault finding and repair.
  • Ability to solder terminals, connectors, cables and components, assemble cable assemblies, crimp cables and connectors.
  • Participation in and contribution to improvement activities and Kaizen events.
  • Forklift licence.
