Purpose of the Role
As the business continues to expand its operations across the utility and infrastructure sectors, the Linesman Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery of overhead line works. This role provides frontline leadership to linesmen teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, technical specifications, and project timelines.
The Linesman Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Supervising and coordinating daily activities of linesmen and subcontractors.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
- Supporting the planning and execution of overhead line construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
- Monitoring team performance and providing on‑site coaching and support.
- Acting as the key point of contact between field teams and project/operations management.
- Safe completion of all planned works.
- Assisting in Storm restoration.
What You'll Bring
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Power Engineering Overhead Lines (or equivalent)
- Authorisation to work on DNO/IDNO networks
- First Aid at Work
- Full UK driving licence
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and industry best practices
- Experience supervising teams in a live utility environment
