About the role:
We are looking for experienced LV/HV Cable Jointers to work on underground power networks. You will install, maintain and repair cables safely and to a high standard across a range of DNO/IDNO networks.
You will be expected to:
- Work in accordance with IES HSEQ procedures and DNO/IDNO network rules
- Follow Electricity at Work Regulations, ESQCR, HSG47, HSG85
- Wear correct PPE and maintain site safety at all times
- Complete all risk assessments, point-of-work briefs and dynamic reviews
- Maintain accurate job records, digital documentation, test sheets and as-installed data
What You'll Do:
- LV live and dead jointing
- Mains and service jointing
- Fault finding and repairs
- LV testing and commissioning
- HV jointing and terminations up to 11kV (desirable)
- XLPE/EPR/PILC joints and heat/cold shrink termination
- HV new connections and network upgrades
- Fuse and cut-out replacements (live and dead)
- Removal of illegal connections
- Assist jointing teams and act as Safety Mate
- Help with excavation, guarding and site setup
- Support with LV switching and safety documents (if authorised)
What You Need (Essential):
- LV/HV jointing experience (DNO/IDNO background preferred)
- Competent in LV live jointing
- HV jointing up to 11kV (or willing to train)
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to work outdoors and in excavations
What You Need (Desirable):
- NRSWA (SLG)
- First Aid
- Confined Space training
- Cable ID/spiking authorisation
- Substation access
