Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Fitter / Plant and HGV Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our fleet of plant machinery and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of our utility services.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of plant machinery and HGVs.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend the life of equipment.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standards and in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work carried out.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop.
Provide technical support and advice to colleagues as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, HGV Fitter, or similar role.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills.
Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence).
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
