We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver mains rehabilitation projects as part of the United Utilities framework. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent stakeholder management, and a solid background in utility or civil engineering project delivery.
- Programme & Planning
- Review and manage the programme of works to ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Identify risks to delivery and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Prepare and update weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Team Leadership & Site Coordination
- Oversee delivery teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure work is carried out safely and to specification.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
- Client & Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact for United Utilities and other stakeholders.
- Attend progress meetings and provide clear updates on programme, risks, and performance.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as design, planning, and SHEQ.
- Commercial & Cost Management
- Monitor commercial aspects of each project, including budgets, variations, and forecasting.
- Work closely with the commercial team to ensure accurate reporting and cost control.
- Support early identification and resolution of potential commercial issues.
- Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
- Manage operational challenges including time delays, access constraints, supply chain issues, and unforeseen engineering obstacles.
- Implement corrective actions and re-sequencing of works where required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing projects within the water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of mains rehabilitation or similar infrastructure works.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercially astute with an eye for detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
