HGV Night Driver

IDS Transport (UK) Limited are market leaders in storage & distribution of fresh produce across the UK.

We currently have several full and part-time Night Driver positions available to work in our fast paced distribution operation where we collect, cross dock and distribute fresh fruit and vegetables, based in Honeybourne near Evesham.

This is a varied role and requires a driver with experience in driving class one vehicles, multi drop deliveries for refrigerated goods to retail distribution centers, wholesale markets across the UK and collections from various pack houses / farms and airports. Runs do require drivers to load / unload, re-stack pallets, therefore you need to be physically fit for the job and also be able to use a manual pump truck.

We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Night Drivers. You must have a minimum of 1 years HGV driving experience. We have a variety of shifts available.

Weekend work will be required as part of this role.

We have the following shifts available;

Full-time / Part – Time / Casual

Nights,Tramping, Weekends,

Rates;

• Shift rates between £175.00 and £200.00 per night
• £25.00 Night Out Allowance
• £10.00 per day meal allowance *

Applicants must have up to date Driver CPC and Digicard.

* must work hours in order to claim meal allowance

Duties

• Load and unload pallets of fresh fruit and vegetable, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transportation.
• Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with the Transport Planning Team and our Customers.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while on the road, all of our runs are timed multi drops deliveries.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of goods, following all safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle with completion of relevant in-house paperwork.
• Maintain accurate delivery temperature logs and documentation as required.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all aspects of transportation.
• Adhere to all local, regional, and national driving regulations while on the road.
• Be able to load and unload vehicles with manual pump trucks and electric pump trucks

Requirements

• Previous experience as a HGV Class 1 Driver working Nights or in a similar role is preferred.
• A valid commercial driving licence is required (full CPC) experience with chilled distribution would be beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, driver hours and best practices in transportation.
• Knowledge of wholesale markets would be advantageous
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks as required as part of all our runs.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.
