We are seeking an experienced
Technical Lead to provide strategic technical leadership across a complex enterprise Digital Information function.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for cloud platforms, infrastructure, cyber security, Dev Sec Ops, data engineering, analytics, and enterprise technologies.
Working closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, programme leadership and business stakeholders, you will act as the senior technical authority, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across Azure cloud, infrastructure, cyber security, Dev Sec Ops, platform engineering and enterprise data solutions.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including Systems Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Sec Dev Ops Engineers and Technical Specialists.
- Define and maintain technical standards, governance and engineering best practices.
- Provide architectural oversight ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
- Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code, Dev Ops, Data Ops and CI/CD best practices.
- Lead technical decisions across Azure, Kubernetes, Open Shift, enterprise data platforms and security technologies.
- Ensure platforms are secure, resilient, scalable and operationally ready.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations across multiple programmes.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for major incidents and critical delivery issues.
- Mentor engineering teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Proven experience leading large multidisciplinary engineering teams within complex enterprise environments.
- Extensive Microsoft Azure experience including governance, networking, identity, security and platform services.
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure, hybrid environments and enterprise platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Open Shift.
- Excellent knowledge of Dev Ops, Dev Sec Ops, Platform Engineering and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience implementing cyber security controls, vulnerability management and secure engineering practices.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data platforms, data engineering and analytics.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Power Shell or Python.
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- CISSP, CCSP or equivalent security certifications.
- TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture certification.
- Experience within defence, aerospace, government or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, Digital Twin technologies or multi-cloud environments.
