Duration: 3 month contract on a rolling basis, long term project
A full UK driving licence is required as you may be required to travel to sites in East Suffolk. Please note that you must be eligible for SC clearance.
About the Role:
An international telecommunications organisation is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team for a network implementation project for a large, regulated construction environment. You will work for the organisation on a project with a renowned international energy company. You will play a critical role in ensuring the project’s financial efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
The organisation requires a Quantity Surveyor who is an expert in cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting. You must have proven experience of completing network implementation in time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with site safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring expenditures are within the approved budget. Measure, submit and agree variations, loss & expense and/or compensation events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of final accounts. Preparing and issuing contractual notices to sub-contractors.
Critical Success Factors:
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Precise cost estimation and diligent financial tracking to prevent budget overruns.
- Effective Communication: Clear coordination with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Anticipating and addressing potential cost and procurement issues before they impact the project timeline or budget.
- Regulatory Adherence: Maintaining strict adherence to site safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure project compliance and safety.
Experience:
- Experience of NEC contracts and NEC assistant.
- Demonstrable experience in a quantity surveyor role with evidence of commercial management success.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with proven experience in resolving difficult or disputed accounts to finality.
- Experience of Financial and Contract Management software packages (desirable).
- Flexible approach to managing workload with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Has a passion and interest in emerging technologies within the Energy Market and supporting the drive to Net Zero.
- Good negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft software packages including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
