A leading global financial services client is looking for a Portfolio Manager to help drive card usage, spend, and profitability through effective portfolio segmentation, targeted activities, and performance-led decision making. This role is highly execution-focused and suited to someone with strong commercial instincts, analytical capability, and the ability to turn insight into action. You will support the delivery of campaigns, review results, and provide clear recommendations to optimise portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of portfolio segmentation strategies to drive increased card usage, spend, and profitability.
- Assist in the design, execution, and optimisation of card campaigns and portfolio initiatives.
- Monitor and review campaign and portfolio performance, using data to assess effectiveness and ROI.
- Provide insights and recommendations on how to drive spend growth, engagement, and customer value.
- Work closely with marketing, analytics, product, and operations teams to ensure effective execution of initiatives.
- Prepare performance updates and insights for senior stakeholders, translating data into clear commercial actions.
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong commercial mindset with a focus on growth, profitability, and performance optimisation.
- Experience supporting or delivering portfolio initiatives or campaigns, ideally within cards, payments, or financial services.
- Ability to analyse results, identify trends, and convert insights into practical actions.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, execution-oriented role.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Good analytical capability; experience working with performance data, KPIs, and reporting.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Experience in cards, payments, retail banking, or portfolio management.
- Exposure to customer or spend segmentation approaches.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and comfortable operating at pace.

12 months initially. Circa £500 per day inside IR35. Hybrid working - Milton Keynes.
