Logistics Lead
Location: Newbury – Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite
Contract: 3-month rolling contract
Rate: £400 per day, outside IR35

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Logistics Lead to support a major network deployment environment, working closely with the Logistics Senior Manager across logistics, warehouse management, stock control and reverse logistics .
This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring equipment is forecasted, available and delivered efficiently to warehouses, deployment sites and partners. You will work across multiple deployment programmes, managing third-party suppliers and delivery partners while identifying opportunities to improve processes, control costs and minimise stock levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Logistics Manager across Logistics and Warehouse Management activities.
- Ensure logistics and warehouse processes are clearly defined, followed and continuously improved.
- Work with warehouse suppliers, RAN vendors and delivery partners to ensure equipment is accurately forecasted, delivered and distributed as required.
- Work closely with Deployment Teams to forecast stock requirements , ensuring alignment with budgets and deployment plans.
- Monitor stock levels and proactively identify opportunities to reduce inventory while maintaining availability.
- Manage and validate equipment call-offs, ensuring suppliers operate within agreed SLAs.
- Monitor stock levels, associated costs and potential write-offs to ensure effective inventory control.
- Provide regular reporting to stakeholders covering stock levels, redundant/damaged equipment and associated financial impacts.
- Proactively manage reverse logistics , including decommissioning, disposal, fault checking and returning equipment for reuse.
- Manage faulty equipment and "hospital" kits where required.
- Work with suppliers and partners to maintain quality standards and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
- Identify and resolve logistics issues that could impact deployment timelines.
- Provide direction and guidance to third parties to ensure requirements and deliverables are clearly understood.
- Support delivery reporting and proactively manage logistics risks and issues.
- Manage forecasting and tracking of spend associated with free-issue hardware .
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working in a logistics role within a fast-paced, technical delivery environment .
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end logistics process, including:
- Forecasting
- Equipment call-offs
- Delivery management
- Stock management
- Reverse logistics
- Inventory reporting
- Experience managing logistics and asset management services delivered through third-party partners and contractors .
- Strong data analysis skills with good financial awareness.
- Experience managing suppliers, vendors and delivery partners.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and positively influence suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a strong customer-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within telecommunications, network deployment or technical infrastructure .
- Understanding of network rollout functions including acquisition, design, build and transmission .
- Experience managing logistics within large-scale network rollout or deployment programmes.
- Knowledge of vendor agreements and stock reuse processes.
