About the Role

Our client, a leading global payments technology company, is seeking an experienced financial analyst to support a global retail banking client in a credit card-focused role. This position sits at the intersection of advanced analytics and commercial insight, working in a consulting capacity with senior stakeholders.

You will bring strong technical analytical skills alongside a deep understanding of credit card commercial drivers, revenue models, and customer-level financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted analytics partner to business and commercial stakeholders within the credit card function
  • Analyse large-scale, customer-level credit card and card finance datasets to generate actionable insights
  • Support decision-making around profitability, revenue, and performance drivers within credit cards
  • Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, commercially focused recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders in a consulting-style engagement, balancing technical depth with business impact

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven background in a Finance Analyst, Commercial Analyst, or Analytics Consultant role within financial services
  • Strong understanding of how credit card businesses generate revenue (e.g. interest, interchange, fees, balances, customer behaviour)
  • Advanced Excel skills (modelling, large datasets, financial analysis)
  • Strong SQL capability for querying and manipulating customer-level data
  • Experience with Python or a similar coding language for analytics and automation
  • Comfortable working with complex financial and transactional datasets
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link analysis to business outcomes

Desirable

  • Experience working with AWS
  • Experience using Snowflake
  • Prior consulting or stakeholder-facing analytics experience within retail banking or credit cards
