IDP invites experienced Solution Architects who are passionate about designing transformative solutions to join our pioneering Global Information Services team.

In this role, you will play a fundamental part in supporting IELTS, the world’s most trusted English language assessment system, delivering impact at a global scale.

You will engage across the entire technology lifecycle—from strategic vision and architectural design to implementation and optimisation—within a collaborative international environment.

Working closely with key partners such as Cambridge University and the British Council, you will help shape innovative architectures facilitating millions of learners' educational journeys worldwide.

This opportunity is based in the UK, with preference for candidates located near Cambridge.

We offer a flexible home-based working arrangement supported by regular visits to our office and travel for important stakeholder engagements.

What You Will Do

  • Architect and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with IDP’s strategic technology roadmap and global operations.
  • Lead innovation initiatives leveraging AWS cloud services, including serverless computing, containerisation, and event-driven architecture patterns to enhance system resilience and agility.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams and global partners to ensure seamless integration, interoperability, and consistency across diverse platforms.
  • Mentor and cultivate a vibrant architecture community within IDP, disseminating best practices, fostering knowledge sharing, and driving architectural excellence across teams worldwide.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to continually infuse modern approaches that align with our mission of enhancing learner experiences.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by translating complex technical concepts into clear business value, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Establish governance frameworks and standards to ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality benchmarks throughout solution lifecycles.
  • What We Are Looking For
  • A minimum of 6 years’ proven experience in solution architecture, with a significant focus on Saa S platforms and cloud-native services.
  • Expert-level proficiency in AWS cloud technologies, microservices architecture, API integration patterns, and modern Dev Ops practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating technical concepts in a clear, compelling manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset and enthusiasm for continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative multicultural environment, showing cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and compliance requirements within the education technology sector is desirable.
