We are seeking a Desk-Based AV Technical Support Engineer to provide remote support and monitoring of audio-visual systems across a range of environments. This role is ideal for someone with AV experience who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, supporting end users, and ensuring AV systems operate reliably, primarily from a helpdesk or support desk environment rather than on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day remote technical support for AV systems, including fault finding and issue resolution.
- Support technologies such as Control systems (e.g. Crestron, AMX).
- Respond to support tickets, calls, and service requests within agreed SLAs.
- Diagnose and resolve issues remotely via phone, email, and remote access tools.
- Escalate complex issues to field engineers or third-party providers when required.
- Monitor AV systems proactively and respond to alerts to minimise downtime.
- Perform routine system checks, remote maintenance, and updates.
- Provide user support for meeting rooms and conferencing technologies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system configurations.
- Work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure timely issue resolution.
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience in an AV support, helpdesk, AV technician, or AV engineer role.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills, particularly in a remote support environment.
- Good understanding of AV systems, including Signal flow fundamentals, Audio systems and DSPs.
- Familiarity with control systems such as Crestron or AMX.
- Experience using ticketing/helpdesk systems.
- Basic networking knowledge (IP, switching, VLANs is a plus).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users remotely.
- Experience supporting corporate or enterprise AV environments.
- Knowledge of networked AV (e.g. Dante, AV-over-IP).
- CTS or relevant AV certification.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management tools.
