What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Manager

1. You’ll be a client-side Senior Project Manager responsible for the investment from initial design through construction and completion. Your projects will focus on delivering investment improvements at key sewage treatment works across London and the home counties.
2. Lead, develop and mentor a team of project management professionals.
3. Overall accountability for your project’s programme, cost, and quality.
4. Establish a positive project health and safety culture and lead with a health and safety mindset.
5. Take accountability for governance compliance and internal/external stakeholder engagement, throughout the lifecycle of the project, leading to a smooth transition into operational business.
6. Support the definition of solutions to meet the project objectives and be responsible for preparing a clear business case.
7. Develop the best procurement strategy for the project and oversee the specifications and production of contract documentation.
8. Develop a strategy for obtaining any required third-party consents, highlighting program and project risks relating to the consents required.
9. Effective liaison with the relevant town planning authorities and key internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running and timely project delivery.
10. Manage and ensure the performance of consultants and contractors to deliver project outcomes on time, cost, and quality.
11. Contribute to steering project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets.
12. Commercially manage all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for Thames Water.

Hybrid – Hampton Coal Wharf, you will be required in the office and on-site 2-3 days a week and as the business requires you to.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Must have access to a car and a driving licence; this role will come with a £5,800 car allowance.

What you should bring to the role

1. An engineering or other relevant degreeOR chartered statusOR a post-graduate business or project management qualification.
2. Be of a technical-based mindset.
3. Broad utility industry and business knowledge with prior involvement in delivering major complex projects (up to £100m in value) within a regulated infrastructure environment.
4. Knowledgeable in managing contract specification preparation, tendering, and tender evaluation processes with experience in negotiation.
5. Demonstrate your capability with risk-based and analytical decision-making.
6. Excellent management skills across multi-disciplined teams as well as excellent communication skills.

1. Competitive salary from £65,000 to £81,720 per annum depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
