Puro Associates are delighted to be supporting a progressive and growing accountancy practice in their search for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant who enjoys building strong client relationships, providing advisory support, and managing a varied portfolio of SME clients. Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing a portfolio of SME clients and acting as a trusted point of contact
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Reviewing VAT returns and management accounts
  • Supporting clients with financial reporting, forecasting, and business performance analysis
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication
  • Liaising with HMRC and other external stakeholders where required
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance and support
  • Assisting with workflow management and ensuring client deadlines are met
  • Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and client systems
  • Supporting company secretarial and compliance-related matters when required

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 years experience working within a UK accountancy practice (Please note without this direct accountancy practice experience your application will not be considered)
  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or significant relevant practice experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, corporation tax, and VAT
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients independently
  • Experience reviewing and supporting junior team members would be advantageous
