In this fantastic opportunity, you will play a key role in implementing technical governance for a £20 billion AMP8 Business Plan, which is the company's largest ever expenditure. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver lasting improvements to water infrastructure across London and the Thames Valley. Your work ensures the delivery of essential services to 16 million customers, keeping taps flowing and toilets flushing daily.
What you’ll be doing as a Technical Governance Coordinator:
- The day-to-day duties for the Technical Governance (TG) Co-ordinator involve a mix of high-level project triaging and detailed administrative support for both the Engineering department and the Innovation PMO.
- Work alongside the Innovation PMO Engagement team to coordinate communications and engagement of innovation stakeholders both internally and across the water industry.
- Support the Technical Governance Chair to determine the appropriate Technical Governance pathway and organise projects as such.
- Oversee planning of all Technical Governance Reviews.
- Allocate all projects to a meeting slot and work with attendees to batch related projects for efficiency.
- Ensure sufficient attendance at each meeting.
- Work with stakeholders to identify improvements and efficiencies to the Technical Governance process to increase effectiveness and drive value for the business.
- Liaise with PMO to monitor technical assurance reports raised at stage gates.
- Arrange appropriate Technical Governance involvement in projects where technical assurance has identified a material change during the project lifecycle.
- Develop and create outputs to clearly communicate the supply and demand of resources to senior management.
- Contribute to a flexible and resilient PMO in role-modelling collaborative behaviours, shared learning, and supporting routine activities spanning adjacent functions.
- Play a proactive role to engage projects with TG process awareness of best practice and behaviour that achieves the optimum TG outcomes.
Base location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court - RG1 8DB
Working pattern or hours: 36 hours, Mon‑Fri
What you should bring to the role:
- Previous experience in project co-ordination in a similar industry and an in-depth understanding of technical governance.
- A pragmatic and flexible working style that supports prioritisation and workload management.
- Ability to work in a complex, fast‑paced environment and respond positively to problems and issues that arise.
- Ability to develop strong internal stakeholder relationships and influence across teams.
- Applicants must be adept at overcoming challenges and dealing with rapid change independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to converse widely and convincingly across a breadth of internal stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft packages, including MS SharePoint, Word and Excel, particularly in supporting the successful delivery of projects and programmes.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have:
- Experience with Power BI and able to create bespoke reports.
