We are seeking a dynamic Operations Catchment Manager to lead the delivery of essential wastewater services across Northwest and Central London at Thames Water. This role offers the opportunity to manage some of the largest and most complex pumping stations and historic trunk sewer networks within our portfolio. You will play a key role in protecting the environment and delivering excellent customer service, and guiding your team through an exciting period of transformation, including integration of the Tideway Tunnel into operations.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, developing, and managing team performance to achieve operational excellence
  • Overseeing the operation and maintenance of wastewater pumping stations and sewer networks
  • Managing operational budgets and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensuring all activities comply with environmental standards and exceed customer expectations
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver KPIs, support capital investment projects, and maintain effective customer communication
  • Promoting a strong, proactive health and safety culture, ensuring best practices are consistently applied

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in leadership within operational or asset management environments
  • Solid understanding of health and safety legislation, including confined space and lifting operations
  • Knowledge of asset reliability, performance management, and continuous improvement
  • Hands‑on management style, ability to engage and inspire teams
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and take full accountability for outcomes
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
  • Willingness to travel across multiple operational sites
  • Experience within the water industry is beneficial, but not essential
  • Comfortable working within strict health and safety environments; confined space experience considered an advantage

  • Salary from £55,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
  • Annual leave: 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with length of service (plus bank holidays)
