Are you an experienced Accountant looking for a broad, hands-on role where you can make a real impact? Warner Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established and successful SME based near Daventry. With a turnover of circa £7 million, this is a stable, friendly business with an excellent reputation and low staff turnover. Working closely with the CEO, this role offers a varied and responsible position where you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while contributing to the wider business.

Job Type: Permanent

The Role

As Accountant, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the finance function, including:

  • Preparing accurate monthly management accounts
  • Managing P&L, cashflow and balance sheet reporting
  • Supporting budget setting and monitoring performance
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • VAT returns and statutory compliance
  • Credit control and debtor management
  • Day-to-day accounting (sales ledger, purchase ledger, nominal ledger, journals and reconciliations)
  • Bank payments and payroll oversight
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Liaising with external accountants and auditors

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys a hands-on, all-round finance role within an SME environment:

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong practical accounting experience
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
