We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Waste Water team in the Thames Valley North area.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors and visitors by always displaying the correct behaviours, complying with Health and Safety at Work regulations and Thames Water’s Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fix these or escalate, performing planned maintenance of plant and equipment daily, installing new plant and equipment as required in line with current Standards and Regulations.
  • Recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying possible future risks and recommending changes in the course of your day-to-day work and raising these for resolution as required.
  • Providing specialist technical advice where appropriate, with up-to-date technical knowledge, coaching, training and developing staff under your supervision, including the apprenticeship programme.
  • Delivering excellent customer experience and positively contributing to overall customer satisfaction by interacting with all of our customers (internal & external) in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.

Location: Contractually, your base location will be Little Marlow STW – SL7 3SB, but you will be required to work across the Thames Valley North area, including Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Oxford and Marlow.

Working Pattern: 38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm. Standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase the earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Essential Criteria:

  • You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering.
  • 18th Edition preferred, but training can be given.
  • Problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions, or escalate if required.
  • Excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
  • Resilient, adapting to the pressures of work and working in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, under own initiative to design and standards.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
  • Team player who can work in many different teams, showing respect for others, providing helpful feedback and supporting the development of others.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Salary up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase the earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
