We are recruiting two Water Resources Analysts to strengthen our analytical, environmental and modelling capability within the Water Resources Team. These roles will play a critical part in monitoring water supply risk, developing an understanding of environmental impacts, supporting regulatory submissions, and providing robust evidence.

Across both roles, you will analyse hydrometric, operational, and environmental data to support Thames Water's long‐term goal of ensuring secure, sustainable water supplies while reducing abstraction impacts on vulnerable and iconic catchments. Each position has a slightly different technical focus—one centred on water resources system modelling and risk assessment, and the other on environmental impact assessments—both contribute to protecting the environment and improving our understanding of water system behaviour.

The roles will deliver a wide range of analytical and modelling outputs, including groundwater monitoring rounds, Water Situation Reporting, Water Resources modelling, outage representation, assessment of abstraction licence reductions and production of regulatory reporting. They will also support high‐quality data management and the preparation of presentations to inform operational and strategic decision‐making.

  • Advanced Excel skills for analysis, QA and reporting.
  • Experience with analytical coding tools such as Python and R.
  • Ability to produce clear data visualisation and dashboards (e.g., Power BI).
  • GIS skills for spatial data analysis and mapping.
  • Knowledge of hydrology and surface water behaviour.
  • Understanding of hydrogeology and groundwater systems.
  • Experience with groundwater or environmental monitoring data.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse technical and scientific reports.
  • Awareness of environmental regulation, including the Water Framework Directive, and experience delivering impact assessments.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive salary up to £38,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
  • Performance‐related pay plan directly linked to company performance measures and targets.
