What you’ll be doing as a Technical Assurance Engineer:
- Ensuring Thames Water provides all necessary health and safety information to the supply chain in accordance with CDM Regulations.
- Identifying compliance, health, safety and environmental risks across projects, working with teams to ensure they are fully addressed through the Solution and through Operations.
- Supporting the Asset Standard waiver process while promoting thoughtful, innovative challenges to existing approaches.
- Identifying and escalating any changes or risks that arise during design, construction, commissioning and handover phases that may impact performance or compliance.
- Collaborating closely with project managers and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to the required quality and within budget.
- Leading on technical project queries — including compliance, environmental and regulatory matters — and liaising with relevant internal and external authorities.
- Ensuring contractors and consultants provide robust evidence demonstrating compliance with engineering, technical and construction standards.
This is a hybrid role based at Hampton Coal Wharf, requiring a mix of office, site and home working depending on business and project needs.
What you should bring to the role:
- An engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Practical hands‑on experience gained after graduation, ideally within design or a related engineering discipline.
- A strong understanding of construction and/or operational environments.
- Solid technical capability in a relevant engineering field.
- Commercial awareness and a strong practical understanding of engineering contracts.
- A collaborative mindset, willingness to learn and confidence to contribute to multidisciplinary teams.
