About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Client Accountant to join our supportive and friendly practice team. This is a client-facing role, ideal for someone with at least 3 years’ experience in UK practice who can confidently manage their own client portfolio and support junior team members.
You’ll be joining a relaxed but professional environment with a casual dress code, monthly socials, and a strong focus on work–life balance. Study support is available for those looking to continue or complete their professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing your own portfolio of clients
- Preparation of year-end accounts for:
- Sole traders
- Partnerships
- Limited companies
- Preparation and submission of personal and business tax returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Liaising with HMRC where required
- Supporting and mentoring junior and trainee accountants
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and to deadlines
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
- AAT qualified preferred, though QBE candidates will be considered
- Strong working knowledge of:
- UK tax returns
- VAT
- Year-end accounts
- Ability to work independently and “hit the ground running”
- Clear and confident communication skills (written and verbal)
- Well organised with good attention to detail
