We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team in our Wastewater Division based out of our Mogden STW. As a successful candidate, you will use your electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision, ensuring that all of our sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers. What you’ll be doing as the Electrical Technician:
- Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by complying with the Health and Safety at work regulations and Thames Water’s Health and Safety guidelines.
- Working on drives, various pumps, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls.
- Undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fixing these or escalating as necessary.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying possible future risks and recommending changes.
- Providing specialist technical advice where appropriate, along with coaching, training and developing staff under supervision, including the apprenticeship programme.
- Delivering excellent customer experience and positively contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
- Interacting with all customers (internal & external) in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.
What you should bring to the role:
- A time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering. 18th Edition preferred but training can be given.
- A problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions or escalate if required.
- An excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Resilient, adapting to the pressures of work and working in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, under own initiative to design and standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
- A team player who can work in many different teams, showing respect for others, providing helpful feedback and supporting the development of others.
- Full UK driving licence.

Base Location – Mogden – Isleworth – TW7 7LW. 38 hours per week Monday-Friday. 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus Standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training. All PPE, tools plus the provision of a van when on duty and on call.
