In this role, you will be managing a small team to deliver our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy, and ensuring compliance with the Thames Water management system, standards, processes and procedures. The role is primarily hybrid but will necessitate regular travel and working from various Thames Water locations throughout a specified region, with occasional travel to other locations within the Thames Water supply area.
What you’ll be doing as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager:
- Work with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Leadership Team to develop corporate strategies and deliver Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives.
- Liaise with Operational Directors.
- Integrate strategy and risk management.
- Prepare and report performance data.
- Manage a team of Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisors to ensure that they deliver a high level of performance.
- Mentor and develop team members.
- Provide support, advice and/or signposting for all matters relating to HSW.
- Oversee incident reviews for significant safety reports using a Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) lens to ensure that root causes are identified and actions identified are effective.
- Visit sites and teams within the area to build relationships and ensure that HSW objectives are met.
- Undertake various ad‑hoc projects and any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
Hybrid - Ashford WTW / Fobney WTW 36 hours a week.
What you should bring to the role:
- NVQ6 / NEBOSH / NCRQ Diploma and a Chartered Member of IOSH.
- Full UK Driving licence.
- A passion for Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, leading by example.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, and the ability to communicate with senior business leaders.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:
- Technical knowledge of a related industry (utilities, infrastructure, or construction), whilst not essential, would be an advantage.
- An understanding of the principles of HOP.
- Experience in leading a team and/or building stakeholder relationships.
